Dr. Wilkson Makumba is the Director of the Department of Agricultural Research Services in Malawi’s Ministry of Agriculture. He holds a PhD in Soil Sciences from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.

He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. Prior to his current post, he worked as a National Research Coordinator for Soils and Agricultural Engineering and as a Station Manager at the Chitedze Agricultural Research Station.
